When Iraqi troops invaded the sovereign nation of Kuwait in August of 1990, one world leader stood up to the aggression from the start. President George H.W. Bush, who introduces and closes the episode, marshalled national and international forces to stop the aggression, then dramatically expel Iraqi forces. Former Secretary of State James Baker and National Security Chairman Brent Scowcroft take viewers inside the key planning meetings. The program tells the immersive stories of military planners, logisticians, and Stealth Fighter pilots, who describe the drama of fighting the first modern war in the post Cold War world. NOTE: This program contains graphic content relating to war that may be disturbing to some viewers. Please preview before sharing in class.
