Understanding Government DVD
Investigate the structure and values of American government by having students in grades K-5 survey the rules in their lives and the reasons for them. Then expand the investigation to the rules that shape the U.S. government. Includes four segments:
- What is Government? and #151; Explore the roles of leaders and citizens in a democratic government.
- Values: Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness and #151; Examine the values and principles shared by Americans of diverse backgrounds.
- Creating a Classroom Constitution and #151; Consider the basic principles and laws of the U.S. Constitution and the process of consensus that went into their formation.
- Living History: My Day at Historic Allaire Village and #151; Visit a living history museum for a hands-on look at the importance of knowing American history.
